Amaryllidaceae

  Amaryllis Family

Non-woody (herbaceous) plants, mostly from bulbs or bulb-like corms with linear leaves that are usually garlic or onion-scented. In New Brunswick, the family includes Allium and Narcissus.

Flowers usually bisexual and symmetrical and arranged in umbels. Petals and sepals alike (tepals). Flowers of some species are modified into bulblets or leaf tufts.
